Here is a size chart. The new white glare lines I had added before my inital scale tests seems to look a bit weird scaled down, so I might have to remove that. I think it still looks good tho

And here is a playlist file:

Also, here is a flipped gradient bottom... I am kinda liking it more since it looks caved in compared to the bubble look previously:

Nice idea Keiko. The lines look great in big sizes but when scaled down, they loose their effect.. Perhaps you should make them more visible on smaller sizes, and try to make the borders sharper in the real release (atm smaller sizes look blurry). Otherwise nice work

Oh, i guess I'll post the links for MY final release here too.
not much improvements.. tried to make text more readable in some places.

Nice set ingver but i think the APE icon should have a black head

...

I think you should put that glare lines away, it really looks not that good scaled down... and what ingver already said, that the borders look rather blurry right now.
I had hoped for a size chart of the playlist icon as well, because of the "text lines" which I thought were too thick on luceos release, especially scaled down. (they became one big blurry something...)
well, so much of my critique

+1 for Inverted gradient!

Oh the text lines are black on sizes 256x256 to 48x48. Then 32x32 they are more grey. And on 16x16 there are none. I fixed the line blurriness problem. I had to much transparency surrounding the icon when I scaled it down, and removing that transparency made a much crisper image.

I'll see if I can do something about the glare lines. Maybe make them more transparent as the icon gets smaller, and not have them at all on the smaller icons (48x48 and below?). I'll play around a bit and try and make everything as crisp as possible.

sry, dunno if I misunderstood you with 'glare lines'... do you mean those vertical white lines which are inside and outside of the border? good to see on the .pls
this was what I meant, they are misplaced imho... well I'm too picky I think ^^
I think I'll wait and see...

and the size of the aliencat in the 16x16 is quite better than previous attempts.
Can't wait for a HD-AAC encoder :P

Oh and your 16x16 icon should definitely have borders since otherwise it might not be so visible on certain backgrounds. Also, make it a bit wider since it appears too thin compared to bigger sizes (increase width).
Overall your icons do look a bit wider than other "interpretations" (mine included) but that's just as well since some file type names can take a lot of room.
But the colors in FLAC icon - orange and white. I think there should be more different colors. the orange looks kind of boring when it's covered with transparent white gradients... perhaps add a bit more yellow(for example a yellow inner glow with the border.. or make gradients yellow-ish. I'm not sure how it will look but its definitely worth a try

I love what's going on here, but I _still_ think the CD icon has something wrong with it, with the perspective of the disc.  It doesn't look round.  Is anyone else seeing what I'm seeing?

Probably not. I wonder if Keikonium finishes his work. I'm eager to see the results.
Hopefully he hasn't given up.

Thank you very much! I can still see some flaws in my set but they're not important enough to fix just now, unless some1 notices them and finds them disturbing.

Ah ha sorry, yes I am done . I don't have a preview of it now, but it closely resembles my last preview. Hopefully it will satisfy everyone since I probably won't be making many, if any, changes to it. The PSD will be included however for those who want to tweak it.

But right now I am currently in the process of backing up all my stuff (it's actually burning right now ) since I am switching over to vista. So once my whole switch is complete, and everything is reinstalled, and I'm back to business, I shall post the set . Sorry to keep you guys waiting a week longer than expected >.<.

Sounds nice...

Backing up before switching a very good thought... but why switching to vista?
Well,... ahem I think I have to shut up myself, b/c I switched to OSX ^^

Here is what I think the final will be. Let me know what you think, and if you guys like it, I will post the entire set tonight.

Here is the whole set... I am thinking of making the glare more visible and a few other tweaks. I'm just to busy with work and other things to actually sit down and test a bunch of things.

What i don't like:

I can't see the lines in the icons that were so visible in your mockups and the top white gradient is too white.. It makes white cats indistinguishable (the shadow doesn't look good at all) and the overall feel is too bright with too much contrast. Especially in 16x16 icons.

I understand that you wanted to add some more effects to make the icons more polished but i think you overdid it

The generic icon colors look dull. at least in smaller sizes.

Where are the playlist icons?(I actually don't care but I'd like to see how u make paper sheets )

Some colors in your icons are kinda dull compared to the frog icon. (btw, rename frog.ico to ofr.ico)
You should make the gradients and colors more consistent. Currently they vary in size and brightness/contrast (Compare flac and wma icon, for example)

Suggestions for improvement:

Make the gradient a little darker and the glare/lines more visible... just a little.
EDIT: something like that. and keep it consistent throughout the set

the 16x16 icons need some work, again with the white gradient, because the white cat faces are hard see

What i do like:

Actually the lines look quite good, if the white shiny gradient wasn't so overwhelming. i like what you've done to them. A bit more color and less white and they'd look much better

The text is readable - always a good thing and the metallic look that you've achieved in some icons (m4a) looks great.

You have made the 16x16 icons, some people still try to simply scale them.

Your icons are already usable and of course you don't have to do as I suggest. I still prefer mine (mainly cause of the 16x16 icons that don't look so good in your set), but your stuff is more stylish.

Great work! Thanks for finding the time =)

Have you had the time for any more adjustments?

Nope. I'm currently in school, working two jobs, and getting no sleep . I haven't had much of a life for anything the past month and a half or so . I really only get about 6-8 hours of sleep every day and the occasional day off each week trying to juggle two jobs.

But if anyone wants to tweak the icons themselves in Photoshop, I can provide the .psd. Everything is labeled, and set out in a fairly easy to understand method. Once you understand how it is done, you can make and modify all the icons for all sizes in about 20 minutes (I can anyways).

If anyone is interested, I will PM you the .psd when I have a bit of time.

Does anyone have a link for this icons, I've been looking for them on the internet but can't find them, and the links provided don't work any more.
