.cue/.mp3 vs split mp3

I have alot of DJ livesets in my library which are accompanied with a cuesheet. I am also using the CUE Filter Playlist plugin.

At times I find when browsing my library it sometimes tags a while to display the correct entries; for example switching to A on album artist takes a while as I have alot of Armin van Buuren (400+) sets with cuesheets.

I was wondering if the livesets were split to mp3 using pcutmp3 this would make any difference in performance i.e. reading mp3 tags direct from individual files rather than indexing from a cuesheet/large mp3 file.
