Nice changes, but why not SSE?? Not faster than standard build?

Maybe because all optimizations have been merged with the normal compile?

Correct. Special SSE version wouldn't produce any advantage.

Does this release resolve the previous version's issue? Has any tweaking been done to the q's/bitrates?

Thanks for making available a free downloadable version.

¿There's no audio quality enhancement included in this version?

Multichannel encoding quality was improved. There were a bunch of quality related bugfixes that were made. We did some tuning on low bitrate LC AAC ( <= 128kbps).

We also tried to address issues with this file and hope that there is enough improvement.

ya, this might be the best audio-related news I've heard all year... especially since just earlier today I decided to install XP on my iMac just so I could toy around with foobar2000/Nero AAC again.  thanks for all the hard work guys, much appreciated!

No there isn't, is there a specific reason why you want this?
You can use neroAacTag to remove it.

You can use neroAacTag to remove it.

The only problem is it adds one extra step to encoding/copying...besides the information it adds can still be found out i.e. without tags

Ah, an old problem which was affecting me pretty often, where the encoder chose too low bitrate at silent parts, seems to have been fixed

I think that adding the CDEC tag is a great thing. I like the idea of being able to see my encoder settings. While I know that %__tool% will show the codec and version and %codec% to show LC, but where else in the tags can you see the settings (i.e. -q 0.45)?
