I basically want this (http://i.imgur.com/A3gKk.png) but without the box.
All the search options I've found create a new playlist with the results, which isn't what I want. Is this possible? |

Hmm. I found a component that lets me do what I need, called 'Typefind'.
However, it requires that I manually click 'Activate' every time I want to search. I found a topic here that mentions you can add a keyboard shortcut, but I can't find any settings to edit in order to add a shortcut... It also mentions that the "Quicksearch Toolbar has the same function when you turn on "Inline" and "Automatic" search" but I can't find any of those settings, either. |

QUOTE I can't find any settings to edit in order to add a shortcut... Preferences - Keyboard shortcuts. Action: [main] - Edit - Type-find. |

I'm not sure I'm using it properly.
I can hit the keyboard shortcut, which brings the box up. Typing does nothing; hitting enter just plays whatever's selected; the arrow keys don't do anything. http://i.imgur.com/w2CY1.png The reason I want to use this over the built-in typefind is that the latter only works if the Title column is first, and there's no way to scroll between results. |
