There will be some loss though you'll have to do some ABX tests to see if you hear any difference. My opinion not worth the effort for the small amount of space you will save.

There will be some sort of "loss" in both cases. The difference between them however, will be very small when you try to ABX them (if you can at all).

Encoding lossy to lossy will surely degrade its quality. But about being obvious, everyone's has a difference in perception, so an ABX would be the most likely method to prove this to yourself smile.gif

Many people generally agree (from a "purist" perspective) that going from one lossy encoding to another is A Bad Idea™. However, if you're looking to just squeeze out a small percentage of filesize (which is really all you'll get, going from 320kbps CBR to V0 VBR), MP3packer is your best bet and will have no further loss.

Yeah. maybe this is the only way to go. I've heard that it's lossless. So be it biggrin.gif

Why not just convert from lossless to V0?Converting from lossy to lossy just distorts the already compressed and deleted samples even further than if you were to do from lossless. The file size will be smaller, but the quality would be even worse.
