psy model in PEAQ Basic

I'm currently doing a project involving PEAQ Basic version. I was going thru some psycho acoustic models and noticed that PEAQ does not differentiate between tonal and noise maskers. Am I right in saying this? Plz. explain.

I am also very interested in this topic, because I am implementing advanced version. I also noticed what you are asking here and had wondered the same. It seems that grouping frequency bins into critical bands and applying frequency spreading in power 0.4 domain compensates for this lack of distinguishing between tonal and noise maskers. I am not sure about this and still have lot of research to do about this. If you run into anything that might clear this thing please post it to me and maybe we can together clarify this. Maybe some tests using tonal and noise maskers on input might clarify the things.
