Think this must be simple, but I am stymied: How does one remove an element in the Default UI? I have picked "Visualization + Cover Art + Tabs" from the Quick Setup, and now just want to get rid of the Visualization box, at lower right. I must have done it before (had to reconfigure after a recent mysterious crash), but can't now. Have tried the splitter, and everything else obvious.

Thanks in advance...

N.

Thanks much for your attention.. Actually, I solved the problem after I posted this, after finding a thread here from 2008 (I would post a link, but now I can't find it). The problem was not deleting the element (Visualization), per se, but rather getting rid of the resultant empty box.

The solution: with layout editing mode enabled, find the "unlock pane" menu option that comes up only when one right clicks while hovering on the pane rule (so that you have a double-headed arrow). One can then adjust the relative sizes of the panes (reducing one to nothing, in effect, if desired).

I have to point out that adjusting the layout in the manner you just did results in an unnecessary separator being present:

The way to fix that is to right click the playlist view, select cut, and paste it over the separator:

And you would have a layout that's free of unnecessary elements:
