HD580 Carrying Case

Hi.

I go back to university next week, and that means taking my HD580's with me too. Now, I have no idea how to take them without them getting damaged. I can't carry them in my hand in a separate bag because I'll have a laptop rucksack on, whilst dragging a suitcase, with a shoulder bag carrying two giant text books.

My only hope is to put them in the suitcase. How do I protect them, or can you find any other alternatives?

Are there such things as headphone carrying cases?

Keep them around your neck?

I have so much to carry, and the HD580's pads are so big, I'll destroy them by just turning my head left and right. Plus, the trains are so incredibly crowded, they'll get destroyed by other people.

I'm more familiar with the HD600s, but they seem pretty durable to me.  The other option I could suggest is to simply wear them like normal, but without music playing.

If you really want to put them in your suitcase (or a backpack, which is an option that has worked for me in the past), just make sure that you don't have anything heavy or firm near them.  If you're feeling daring, when you pack, put socks or t-shirts into the part where your head would go.  That way it will be protected from collapsing on itself.

But as I said, the HD600s are quite durable, and I'd expect that the HD580s are nearly just as hardy, so I suspect that your concerns are not well founded.
