ReallyRareWares launched

Hello. I'd like to announce the launch of ReallyRareWares, I site where I'm going to host part of my collection of old & rare audio codecs.

http://www.rjamorim.com/rrw/

Some old timers here will recognize the design

For the time being, I only have my MP3 collection. In the next few days I plan to add other collections: lossless, vocodecs, AAC, oddities..., as well as the glossary.

Of course, I invite all visitors to search old CDs for rarities and, if you find something that is not already featured there, please drop me a mail

Also, I would like to ask help from the HA users:

-What is the name of the font used in the logo and the graphics? The guy that did the design for me can't remember.

-Can someone graphically savvy attempt to adapt the logo? I would like to have Really added there (before the big RareWares, and in "A Collection of Really Hard to Find..."). I tried to do it myself, but I'm hopeless in design

Also, I would like to keep the logo as similar to the current one as possible (for nostalgic reasons...  )

Hello Roberto, congratulations for you idea, I liked RRW a lot!
And I'd like to know if you'll publish older lame releases too. It'd be nice to see a home page with all Lame versions (something like Winamp Heaven).
I have some old Lames here, if you need it, I can send to you.

"Abraços!"

Sure! Old Lame, old Vorbis, old MPC... Keep 'em coming.

(always mail the list of what you plan to send first, please. If you want to send me too much stuff, I'd rather create an FTP account for you)

My best guess would be "Dauphin".

FontMatcher is a wonderful tool

I think it is Delphin No2 T from the site mentioned a couple posts up.

look http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/urw/delphin-n...=RareWares&p=48.

costs $20 though.

Actually there are some differences, look at the e. I think getID3() is right its Dauphin.

Great news Roberto ... thanks a lot !

Two thumbs up from me !
The name was Plex The Ripper, not Jack The Ripper

Oh, yes. Please report. I'd rather have people report the errors to me instead of I search for them myself, because then I can focus on creating pages and articles

(Lossless section is almost ready)

@tigre: Thanks for the hint

The  greatest  programming  project of all took six days;  on the seventh  day  the  programmer  rested.  We've been trying to debug the !@#$%&* thing ever since. Moral: design before you implement.

This was a really good idea!

Here in Germany it is impossible to create such a site. You can't even put a few Icon-Themes on your Webpage without make your post adress public available. I should leave Germany

Sorry, a little bit off topic.

Nice site, really.

You remembered me having to have my 386 machine work all night long  to encode but a handful of wav's to the precious and exotic mp3 format.

LOL, anyone else read that as 'diseased codecs...' ?
