Computer crashed

Hello everyone,

I apologize in advance for my English.

I have a problem with Foobar, my library includes only FLAC (16 or 24bit).

When I read the 24-bit files, my computer crashes.

Could you help me?

thank you very much
Thomas

Are you sure your soundcard drivers are up to date?

Foobar2000 shouldn't crash your computer.
Who are you and how did you get in here ?

Correction: Foobar2000 can't crash your computer, unless you have bad drivers or bad hardware.

Yes,

I've got Last drivers.

When i listen a file with a high bitrate my compute freez and i have to restart it with the power button. Reset doesn't work.

Thanks

Sounds like you might have a problem with your hard drive if it's just freezing.

Which output are you using? There have been some talks that latest X-Fi drivers would be unstable with WASAPI and ASIO. If this is the case I recommend contacting Creative to get it fixed and using DirectSound output in the meantime as a workaround.

@ khatgs -- re. "How can i check that (HDD) ?"

I use HDDScan. No installation required (i.e. portable) just download and run.
The interface is a bit weird -- instructions (unless they've changed it):
Select Drive from Drop-down > Click on the ugly New Task button > Surface Tests > Select Verify (DON'T SELECT ERASE !!) > Add Test (the test will start)
While it's running you can look at S.M.A.R.T report.

C.
PC = TAK + LossyWAV  ::  Portable = Opus (130)

I'm using Asio drivers.

I tried HDDScan but everything is ok (only green).

Try a different output mode, DS or WASAPI.

To be clear, actually WASAPI and ASIO are workarounds for broken DS drivers, not the other way around.
It's only audiophile if it's inconvenient.
