I have a few condenser microphones, electrect microphones and headphones with significant amount of dirt (I have on it and adhered on the membrane.
The membrane should be fragile, but having sirt without cleaning increases the mass and physical impedance, hence they should be cleaned. The reason why I don't replace them is they are rare models, e.g. matched panasonic wm-61a stereo pair and vintage earphones & I have access to a univ. chem lab. candidates solvents are pure H2O, ethanol, methanol, dichloromethane, chloroform, acetone, light petroleum, air, nitrogen(room temp blower, not liquid), vacuum...... Who have Idea?? |
