Some of my mp3s display a <LENGTH> when I view tags in MP3Tag. Some don't.
Is it so that some files do and some don't, or is it just nonstandard placement/formatting/mapping that leads MP3Tag to display only some but not all? Are these really good for anything? (Does the answer depend upon player? I use fb2k, which does not display any of these for mp3s.) I don't think I have encountered anything that appears to be iTunes-encoded which has this, but that is maybe in these fruity Comment tags? -------------------- geocities.com/hydrogenaudio: http://goo.gl/tqYZj

Could be the TLEN ID3v2.3 tag, which LAME always includes, but is completely unreliable and thus useless, because some software puts garbage in it. It's also not sample-accurate, IIRC.

Does not help gapless playback or anything such?
(fb2k still displays > 60 different tag names in my library, so I'd like to get rid of the unnecessary ones ...) -------------------- geocities.com/hydrogenaudio: http://goo.gl/tqYZj
