I finally took the plunge: got rid of Mediamonkey, and elevated Foobar2000 to my main and only piece of audio software for organising, playing and converting audio files.
I prefer to use shortcuts and one-click operations, and I have managed to obtain this perfectly in Foobar2000 1.1.11 with one exception: the file operations component. The symptoms are as follows: 1. when right-clicking on a file, all functions are available and working from the context menu (delete, copy, move, rename). 2. the delete function can be added as a shortcut and as a toolbar button. 3. move, rename and copy cannot be added as a shortcut or as a toolbar button. Could it be a bug relating to another component? My installed components are: Columns UI, Discogs Tagger, Lyric Show Panel 3, Quick Search Toolbar, Run Services, TagBox and Text Tools. Searching this forum and the Internet has not brought up any relevant hints or solutions. Any help is appreciated. |

I just had a look on my copy to see if they show up as options for keyboard shortcuts and toolbar buttons, which they do. Not sure what the problem could be, exactly, but maybe just double check that you're looking in the right spot? The should be available under '[context]' -> 'File Operations' -> 'Move to'/'Copy to' -> '...' [in this last spot, there's a list of presets nd an ellipses to selct from -- I'll assume that the latter is for when you would like to be creative and not use a preset
If you still have trouble finding where they are, I'm quite happy to post a screenshot for clarity -------------------- "Lifting Shadows Off a Dream"

Thank you!
This is what I did before without success. For some reason, it works today, i.e. I can now add the functions as shortcuts. However, it is still not possible to add the functions as toolbar buttons, i.e. the button is created but nothing happens when clicking the button even though a file is highlighted (only the "delete" function works). Now it works. Once a preset has been added to the File Operations Setup, e.g. %artist% - %tracknumber% - %title%, the button can activate the function.
Problem solved. This post has been edited by db1989: Apr 20 2012, 09:42
