strange. works for me. Maybe because hosting allows file to be downloaded only by russians? Try using a download manager.
edit: can someone for whom the link works please make a mirror for those for whom the link doesn't work? This post has been edited by yandexx: Jan 18 2005, 14:45 -------------------- stimulating the audio nerve directly

Doesn't work for me too. Right click / save as works apparently, but the downloaded flac file is only 12 kb, and correspond to a html file.
EDIT: I suppose that the upload forum is an easy place to make this file available for the whole HA people This post has been edited by guruboolez: Jan 18 2005, 14:54 |

This synthetic sample causes problems for all codecs. MPC fails at --quality 10, Nero Reloaded's encoder fails at "Transcoding" too. Wavpack 4.1 lossy fails at -b250 but does well at -b300. Vorbis handles it the best, making it extremely hard to ABX at -q10, but it uses 215-221 kbps (aoTuV), whereas the other codecs allocate many less bits. yandexx, what program did you use to create it? It's a pure sine wave. It's no wonder it can't be encoded properly. BTW, when adding a quiet layer of (synthetic) strings and merging it with the drum beat, all codecs handle it well
BTW, if it's from a CD, tell us which one? a Sample CD? A Yamaha synthesizer samples CD? CoolEdit? This post has been edited by Seed: Jan 18 2005, 17:31 -------------------- And if Warhol's a genius, what am I? A speck of lint on the ***** of an alien

You can find all my listening test samples here:
http://www.rjamorim.com/test/samples/ But please only download them if you'll really use them. That account is on a tight bandwidth quota. -------------------- Get up-to-date binaries of Lame, AAC, Vorbis and much more at RareWares:

This sample is just repeated kick sound from Fruity Loops.
Guruboolez, thanks for the hint! For all who are not able to download from given link, sample is now available in the Uploads forum. -------------------- stimulating the audio nerve directly
