Columns UI search.

So, I got the amazing Columns UI component for foobar2000. I right clicked; "Toolbars" > "Filter search". When ever I type in that box, it works.. But lets say I have a playlist: "Top rated", I know that MGMT's "Electric feel" is in there, and I want to get to quick. So I type in the box: "mgmt". Instead of showing me that one track in that top rated playlist, Electric Feel, It switches to the "Filtered Results" playlist and shows the other 30 MGMT tracks I have. Can anyone help me, please? I would really appreciate any help I get. (also, what're "Filter Results" & "Filter Results (Playback)"?. (I'm new to foobar! ))

Thanks in advance,
Senan.

I'am not a hundred percent sure, but Filter Search uses your whole library as source when you perform a search, not the currently active playlist. And I don't think that you can change this behavior.
Instead you maybe want to take a look at Quick Search Toolbar. There you can choose, where to perform your search in - Database, Playlist, All Playlist etc.. Here are some further information about how to use it.

I use Quicksearch plugin as well. Excellent alternative. Searche in database by defautl, but in one click, it will search in current playlist.

Great! Do you know what those Fitered Results (Playback), and Filter Results are?

The Columns UI Filter is a media library viewer and is showing you views of your media library;
If you click on an item in the Filter then your selected item(s) need to be displayed in a playlist in your playlist viewer .
Single click browsing in the Filter causes the items to display in a playlist named "Filter Results" .
Double clicking on an item in the Filter causes the items to display AND play in a playlist named "Fitered Results (Playback)" .

If you want to change this behaviour,
then go to: File -> Preferences -> Display -> Columns UI -> Filter
Have a look at the checkbox named "Auto-send selection to playlist",
Also have a look at the drop-down boxes named "Double click action" and "Middle click action"

Another thing to know,
while browsing items in the Filter, right click on the selected item(s) and you can choose which Playlist to send the items.
If you want to control the sort behaviour of items sent to a playlist, then add some title-formatting syntax to the "Sort incoming files by" field at Filter preferences.
My "Sort incoming files by" field looks like this: %path% %album artist% %date% %album%

Thanks, my albums were being sorted by the artist before the track number when viewed in "Filter Results", it was really annoying. Messing with the order was enough.
