[CROSS-POSTING] Conversion of ape files to mp3

1) How can I convert ape file into mp3? Please also advise if other accompany software is needed and how do they work?
2) How can I split an ape folder consisting of about ten smaller ape files into individual mp3 files? Can I go ahead to split that folder at one goal direct to individual mp3 files?
