How to remove duplicate songs from my iPod?

I recently bought a new iPod to replace my old one, and for some reason when I uploaded my music collection songs were duplicated at a strangely large amount. Sometimes even up to ten duplicate songs an album.

I tried to use the "remove duplicate" option foobar has, but every time I use it it seems to do absolutely nothing.

What am I doing wrong? I can't figure out how to remove all of these duplicate songs.

Any information would be greatly appreciated
