FFDSHOW problem with LIBDTS

Every now and then I come across a file that sputters with some sort of digital clipping, like the audio is dropping "frames".

I took a look and it seems that it is 6 channel DTS and FFDSHOW is playing back with libdts.

I have tried to listen via two setups:

wav HDMI output direct to crappy Vizio LCD speakers

wav via EMU patchmix to Lavry DA-10

same results on both.

I fiddled with FFDshow and didn't get anywhere; trying to downmix to stereo.

Is this a sign of corrupt encoding of the x624 (mkv file)?

EDIT* I'm going to try a new build of FFDSHOW as VLC decodes with no audio errors.
thanks
