Is WMA 9 becoming good?

Yesterday entered http://www.angelrecords.com  website for the first time.

Many songs are in WMA 9 (Pro?) 128kbps and in full length. For a WMA promotion that's impressive.

If you listen to some artists it's quite impressive.

I'm really wondering if it's WMA Pro, since I feel a difference with my mp4s 128kbps of the CDs, although this WMA seems less metallic than before.

Anyway, it's quite rare to be able to listen to full length songs for a label (EMI).

But I wont switch to WMA, my iPod works fine with MP4.

It's really interesting. Is there any way to save these songs and videos locally on my hard disc? I can hear and watch them but if I try to save - I have only small file playasx.asp.asx....

For ripping streaming read this thread : http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....ic=12333&st=0&&

But remember, if you like the artist buy the CD.

Anyway, on more and more listening, it's still miles away from MP4, but I think it's because it's encoded at " 128 kbps, 44 kHz, stereo 1-pass CBR ".

Well a label that would offer near CD quality that's still unheard of.

You will be assimilated. :alien:

Guess they finally awoken to the fact that the only way digital downloads are ever gonna work is to offer near CD quality files instead of the POS that are on CP'ed CDs and the ones available on music websites. I figures that it would of headed this way since iTunes started to take off... takes one to revolutionise the way businesses are runned kudos to Apple for providing decent files that at least offer near CD quality audio.
