QUOTE (Pio2001 @ Apr 11 2003 - 12:24 PM) Without C2, you can't get more secure than test and copy, non accurate, cache. As I understand when using "burst mode" it will not make any difference as everything is read in one go. Only the CRC is checked after that. No jitter correction will be done, so you should never use it if your drive doesn't support "accurate stream". And caching is no issue in burst mode. The only settings that seems sensible to me is to match the drive settings "has accurate stream" and "caches audio" with the actual drive behaviour. It's well known that C2 can not be trusted 100%, even if the drive supports it. -- Ge Someone |

This thread made me think about some details of secure mode, the result is an idea how to improve it.
Read this thread on digital-inn.de Exact Audio Copy forum for details. This post has been edited by tigre: Apr 11 2003, 15:47 -------------------- Let's suppose that rain washes out a picnic. With test and copy, no C2, all the CD is read 4 times : two times for the secure test, two times for the secure copy, and the jitter correction parts (non accurate mode) might be read 8 times, depending on how it is programmed, and all readings must be identical.
Burst test and copy only reads two times. |
