Bit Perfect Output with Laptop, what do I need? Options

I am about to get a laptop from work.
I want to use it to play all my digital music via my recievers digital input (either coax or optical).


What are my options in terms of bit perfect output?

Should I really pay attention to the Jitter issue that I have read about. None of my equiptment would be considered audiophile. Although I will have a sytem with well-respected DAC's in the near future.
