post-processing of audio compression.?

Does any one know any post-enhanced algorithm of audio compression like speech coding (G.723.1 G.729, etc.). However, speech coding standard includes this functionality, audio coding not. Does it means it's not worthy to do or not know how to do..?
Here, i refer enhancement tool not like DFX of mp3 (produce some 3D, hyper bass..special effects), but like quality restoration.
The answer to me is that audio coding not like speech coding, we don't know exactly what we code, maybe speech or songs. So no clue to focus the item to enhance..
