Not compete, but work together

Most 24 bit / 96 KHz soundcard manufactories use a Via Envy chip.
I know that the Terratec 24/96 uses a Via Envy 24 chip

Seconded, my Audiophile 24/96 uses it. VIA/Crystal Audio has been producing great chips for some time.

My M-Audio Delta 410 also uses a VIA Envy 24 chip. VIA bought ICE who built these chips so now is VIA Envy - same thing, instead of ICE Envy 24 you'd found in older 24/96 products  (before 2001 or so).
