I've put loads of custom tags in the comment field of all my mp3s, so I can create playlists based off similar aspects to tracks. I don't really know how to use the filter expressions though, so I'm having trouble doing what I'm after. I had a look at the help page for it but the text expressions make my head hurt!
So, I want to be able to find stuff that contains A, but does not contain B, E or F, for example. Or, I just want to find everything that doesn't contain A or B. And then make auto-playlists based on that. Hope that was clear! |

Try these:
So, I want to be able to find stuff that contains A, but does not contain B, E or F, for example. field HAS a AND NOT field HAS b AND NOT field HAS e AND NOT field HAS fQUOTE Or, I just want to find everything that doesn't contain A or B. NOT field HAS a AND NOT field HAS b

Thank you! I was trying different combinations of things but it was simpler than I expected.
Okay I have a more advanced question now, is there a way to essentially check for spelling mistakes I've put in? The comments contain various combinations of a finite number of descriptors. Is there a way to check for a string of characters that doesn't match any of those descriptors? So for a track where the comment was... deep light electornica ... it'd show me that 'electornica' isn't right. I can export the tag details using MP3tag to Excel and check there, but I was wondering if Foobar could do this for me. I suspect it might be a bit complicated, might as well ask though. Sorry, I don’t know how to do that. Hopefully someone else does! Glad the other stuff helped.

Okay I have a more advanced question now, is there a way to essentially check for spelling mistakes I've put in? What about foo_tagbox? As I remember you can make a pre-defined list of variables and use a checkbox-based system to add whichever you want (to the multivalue field). That would also completely eliminate the necessity of manual typing. This post has been edited by Daeron: Jan 22 2012, 21:56 |
