Hello, I convert flac to my computer for archive reasons, and convert to aac for my ipod.I replaygain using track gain for each *I understand the function of this and album, and want to do it this way*, but what I find is for some *not all* the peak values for aac will be completely different. For example heres eminems marshal matter album value...

It's totally normal for lossy compressed files, especially with transform based codecs like AAC or MP3, to have different peak values than the source files, as the actual audio data will be altered (that's why they are called lossy). Nothing to worry about, really.

Except for some of my aac files the peaks show the same exact value as their flac counterparts, which I do not understand...

Why not? If slight differences are going to be introduced upwards and downwards, it’s hardly remarkable that some values come out the same.
