Metallica ICON

I'm not sure if this belongs here or in other discussions. Feel free to move this if this is mis-placed.

Anyone know where to get  - recorded on a DVD-R, and then professionally extracted to WAV and compressed with MP3 APS  - files of the performances from the Metallica ICON VH1 show? (note: not legitimate CD recordings, these are from a live TV broadcast. I in no way support illegal transfer of authorized recordings). At least not in this forum, I do not! B)

I've heard Avril Lavigne sang "Fuel"

WinMX is best for these things & you can pretty much forget about a high quality rip, you'll be lucky to get all songs

I'd give eMule a shot. I('ve found|do find) MPCs there before. Apologies to the mods if this is straying from the terms of service a little.

I apologize if this strays from the rules as well. If so - wipe this thread right out!

I know all this stuff is available via kazaa, morpheus, etc. I was hoping for a HIGH QUALITY source.

I also have to go on record as saying I'm looking for the Bizket and Korn covers. I do not even want to hear the Avril song.

Um... guys? It's Metallica. You've got a lot better stuff you could listen to. Like cats' mating calls and babies with pots and lids.

A little respect here.
Metallica might not make the finest music on human history , but it's undoubtedly one of the greatest metal bands of all time.
Ok , you might not like the genre , but don't go out there telling people things they can listen to and things they can't.

You have this....renegade attitude

Hm...as a longtime metalhead I must say that ever since "And Justice For All..." (their last good album) most of their material afterwards is good only as anal lubricant.

"Master of Puppets" used to rule my world back in the day but the last 10 years of Metallica's output can only cause disbelief that a once mighty band could have fallen so low.

Mmm I think their "Metallica" album (after ...And Justice For All) is really good.Maybe more commercial-oriented but you can't deny it's a good album. The following albums were not that good , ok.Load & Reload have some horrible songs but they are not 100% crap IMHO.They're just not as good as the "old" Metallica because they're playing another style and they're not so good at it.
I've heard the forthcoming "St. Anger" album (will be released next June) has a different , more aggressive style than previous albums , lets wait and see...
What I definitely hate about Metallica is their attitude towards file sharing communities.

I'm not holding my breath. When you rub shoulders with Ms. Presley, Snoop Dogg, Wimp Biscuit and others like that I seriously doubt they will have the inner drive to create something truly worthy of their earlier catalogue.

"Creeping Death" was the very first metal song I ever heard (off "Ride the Lightning"), so I have a special place in my heart for Metallica...but these days...yuck...just another Top 40 pop/rock band.

My first CD I could listen to foreward and backwards was Garage inc... Yes, I heard it the whole day with my new discman and my new Sony Headphones which were awsome. yeah, the good old days, what a nostalgy!

Have you heard of the "St. Anger"? It's a double CD album which only costs 13.99€. (A Metallica 2CD album for only 13.99€, sounds impossible... I had to pay at least 15€ for the good old Load btw. which also a very good album)

EDIT: I just realized that I forgot a verb..
I love the moderators.

St. Anger will not be a double album (2CDs).It will include a "bonus" DVD (not CD) with some extra goodies.
At least that is what I've been reading.
I guess the DVD will be mostly useless around here because very few people have DVD players .

You mean where you live? Here they sell them in the grocery stores for about $50.00.

And as far as Metallica is concerned, I have to agree with Zaraza. Have to see if this one will put them back in the right frame of mind. Not counting on it.

PS - M.o.P. probably one of the greatest Metal albums of all time. Wish they could/would (d)evolve back to that sound.

No, I listen to a variety of music. That includes some metal.

IMHO, Metallica are a bunch of whiny has-beens.

Sorry if I genuinely hit a nerve. I was just taking a poke at Metallica because I had the chance.

That's funny...DVD drives in grocery stores , next to apples?
Well DVD players are not that hard to find , they cost 60-70 dollars in local comp. shops. The thing is , since last devaluation of our currency most people (the lucky ones who have jobs) make under 250 dollars a month , so after buying food and paying taxes & services there's not much left for DVD drives.

Most likely they won't sound like they did back then.I've heard this new album is going to be heavy but poor in melodies , with some 'industrial' influences.Good things don't last forever I guess.

Metallica going industrial? ha. ha, that's so funny...they probably don't know zip about the genre.

I don't recall James Hetfield listening to old Einstuerzende Neubauten, Laibach or Test Department albums back in the 1980s...he probably learned everything he knows about industrial from listening to one Nine Inch Nails album.
