Batch Trimming and Appending Silences

Hi,
Given the gapless advantages of ogg this may seem a bit perverse  but here goes....

Does anyone know of some software I can use to trim off all the variable silences at the begininig and end of selected ogg files and/or to append uniform silences to the same files and all without having to re-encode?
