Batch unzipping of zip files for my music collection .. ?

Hi

I realise this is not directly related to FB2K, but I know one of you clever people may be able to help ..

I am downloading a large netlabel collection (over 350 releases).

When finished I need to unzip them all into there respective folders.

I have never worked out how to do this with Windows built in zip function (XP or 7).

Is there an easy way I can select all these zip files to be batch processed, and unzipped into the default folder (named after zip file title) ?

3rd party software (preferably free) ?

thanks

Winrar is what you need. Free to use, gets an popup efter 30days but still works.
You know that F2K has built in archive reader? (you don´t have to unpack compressed files)

Yes I did thanks, but would prefer to unzip them (to be read by other media players).

So WinRAR can batch unzip, and into the usual folder created when unzipping in Windows ?

Or use 7-Zip, which isn’t annoying shareware.

Indeed, so moved.

It’s straightforward: Install 7-Zip, enable its context menus, and associate it with the relevant type(s) of archive – which, do note, usually requires you to run it as an administrator, otherwise your attempted changes will fail without any notification (thanks for that, 7-Zip’s developers). Then you can simply select all of the archives that you wish to unpack, right-click, and choose 7-Zip>“Extract to *\”, which will expand each archive into a folder named after itself. Or, if you know that all (or a large proportion) of them already have such a folder at their root, you can just use “Extract to here”.
