Rush - Caress of Steel
CD rips as 5 tracks. Track 4 - The Necromancer - has 3 parts/movements: I. Into The Darkness II. Under The Shadow III. Return Of The Prince Track 5 - The Fountain Of Lamneth - has 6 parts/movements: I. In The Valley II. Didacts And Narpets III. No One At The Bridge IV. Panacea V. Bacchus Plateau VI. The Fountain Um, what's the best way to tag those songs so the movement names are preserved? I suppose the wav could be split but I really don't want to do that because that would screw with random playlists. What do they do in Classical where I presume this scenario happens all the time? |

I've probably gone through a thousand classical CD's in the last couple of months. The usual is each movement would have it's own track, then you have the reverse problem of how to include the name of the whole piece. You can put the list of movements in a comment field, but that doesn't get you a display of which one you're playing at the moment. |

I had the same problems in past, but fortunately, mpc (sv8) have a chapter support, so I don't bother any more.
Other possibility could be mka container, but I haven't test it yet. |
