foo_out_asio: any way to use only 2 channels?

I have Asus Xonar HDAV5.1 Slim card, connected to an audio-video processor (AVP) via HDMI. I use foo_out_asio, and this provides me bit-perfect playback. But the AVP always shows that the input is 7.1 channels.

Is there a way to tell the ASIO to use only 2 channels, to send 2.0 sound to the AVP?

The reason is to try to send DTS wav files directly. It can be done via foo_out_spdif using the same HDMI, and, as such, should work via ASIO if the AVP would receive the data as two channels, not as 8 channels. Also, I believe with only 2-channel connection, SACD plug-in would output DSD directly.

Try Preferences->Output->ASIO->Custom channel mappings->Add new

That's what I had to do for proper playback already. But it does not reduce number of output channels, even if I don't assign all but two front channels.
