Hey guys,
So i need some help...I recently moved my auzentech prelude 7.1 from an old computer to a new one. The card seemed to have installed fine and Windows isn't complaining about drivers etc. However, I can get no sound through the analog outputs but can get a digital signal through the coaxial output. I am using Z-5500 speakers but have tested the cards analog outputs with my HD-280's and still no playback. Any ideas? The card worked fine on my old machine. |

If your old computer is still working, the first thing I'd do it move it back to test it. If the analog output is working on your old machine at least you know your sound card is working properly. |

Does your computer have sound built into the motherboard?
If so, make sure your Auzentech Prelude is selected as the default analog audio out. In vista you can do this by right clicking on the volume icon in the taskbar and clicking on "playback devices." Make sure your Auzentech analog out is set to be the default audio out. |

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. Running XP SP3, onboard audio disabled in bios and in Device Manager. Old PC is currently not working so I can't test the card. Would it be worthwhile changing the PCI slot that its in? Prelude is set as the default soundcard.

Tried switching to a different PCI slot. No go. Have re-installed drivers etc. Time to RMA?

Enable the onboard audio in the bios and the device manager. Test to see if the stereo out is working with the onboard sound then try the Auzentech again without disabling the onboard sound. Yes, it sounds like a weird solution. Sometimes computers are just quirky and that's the way it goes.
Also, does the card have removable opamps? If it does, you might have knocked something loose when you moved it. Try pushing the opamp back into the base. This post has been edited by odigg: Mar 23 2009, 21:24 |

With most Creative cards, you can either have analog OR digital out. Not both.
See if you can disable digital out as default out. |
