With "add files..." and "add folder..." you can add multiple files or a single folder to active playlist.
The "open..." dialog does nearly the same like the "add files..." one: the only difference is that it clears the content of the active playlist before adding. It would be useful for people - who are working a lot with files from hard and removable discs - to have some possibilities more. I find the following one for my needs important:
Edit Not so important but useful:

A few minutes ago i found in MS One Note a control element in an open-dialog that i've never have seen before. A good way how add to playlist, send to playlist and create new playlist could be integrated:

Recent versions of Office do not use the standard dialogs, which cannot be altered in a documented manner. It is well known that Office tends to reimplement all the standard dialogs it uses so they look like the current version of Windows at whatever time that version of Office was released. (Have fun running an old version of Office on Windows 7, only to discover all the file open dialogs look like Windows XP and do not support file Libraries.)

I wouldn't care about the way how some features would be implemented inside foobar2000s open dialog. But after your response let me ask if the request are at all feasible/possible to implement?
