Been Ripping my collection with EAC, got it set up all correctly and ripping my CD's using FLAC. Recently i ripped and compressed a 2 disk "Various Artists" CD using FLAC. The rip went smoothly.
After the rip i add the folder to foobar2000 and its showing each individual song as a separate album in the album list. All of my other albums from one artist are fine. Cant understand why its doing this and its annoying is there anyway i can fix it? Posted a screeny here to show you what i mean. ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Thanks This post has been edited by Graeme_D: Jun 17 2011, 15:49 |

The problem probably lies within your tagging practice, or something being off or inconsistent within this album.
I would guess that you need to adopt an ALBUM ARTIST standard in your tagging. Also, it's easy to see that Back In The Day (Disc 2) is missing a date tag. |

Think i understand what i did wrong on that occasion, here is the command line i use in EAC for FLAC -8 -V -T "ARTIST=%artist%" -T "TITLE=%title%" -T "ALBUM=%albumtitle%" -T "DATE=%year%" -T "TRACKNUMBER=%tracknr%" -T "GENRE=%genre%" -T "COMMENT=%comment%" -T "BAND=%albuminterpret%" -T "COMPOSER=%composer%" %haslyrics%--tag-from-file=LYRICS="%lyricsfile%"%haslyrics% -T "DISCNUMBER=%cdnumber%" -T "TOTALDISCS=%totalcds%" -T "TOTALTRACKS=%numtracks%" %hascover%--picture="%coverfile%"%hascover% %source% -o %dest% Is it something that needs to be changed here, or just in foobar? Forgive me as im new to this. Thanks |

I don't use EAC, but IMHO you can replace
-T "BAND=%albuminterpret%" with -T "ALBUM ARTIST=%albuminterpret%" or use both tags: -T "BAND=%albuminterpret%" -T "ALBUM ARTIST=%albuminterpret%" |

If you use both, the current version of foobar2000 will show two values for the Album Artist tag. Use only the Album Artist tag when writing.
