Total number of songs by artist

What I want to know is how to see a list of artists sorted by total number of songs in the media library.

I want something like this:
Artist C - 424
Artist A - 384
Artist D - 137
Artist B - 96

The closest I can get is by using "%<artist>%|%title%", but I get this result:

Artist A - 385
Artist B - 96
Artist C - 424
Artist D - 137

what you're asking isn't possible.

assuming you're using default UI, you can add facets to your layout and that allows you to sort by totals.

or if you're using columns UI, foo_uie_sql_tree might help but i'm not sure on that....
