Converting to mp3 with v2.3 ID3 tags

I use foobar to convert my FLAC's to mp3's, unfortunatelly it converts them adding v2.4 ID3 tags. My portable audio doesn't read these neither my version of windows, so I have to change them to v2.3 each time.

Is there a way to convert in foobar adding directly v2.3 tags?

yes, go into FILE > PREFERENCES > ADVANCED, then "TAGGING" and check "use ID3v2 COMPATIBILITY MODE.  This will create ID3v2.3 tags instead.

When I convert flac to .mp3, I now have ID3v2.3 AND ID3v1.

What to do in foobar (I use 1.0.3) to only have ID3v2.3 tags in the output files?
