Hi
For using the iUSBPower from iFi: http://ifi-audio.com/en/iUSB.html You will need one dual headed usb cable to send the signal to the DAC. This cable must join two usb cables into one. One source contains power only, the other contains the data stream. iFi has a cable for this, "ifi gemini dual headed usb cable". The only problem is: This cable alone costs about the same as the iFi iDac = Redicolous ammount of money.  Do you guys know of a cheaper, but good alternative? Not a regular taiwan-tech usb cable. But more like the Supra USB cable: Good quality and affordable (http://www.whathifi.com/review/supra-usb-20) Olav |

I got one of those bundled with my USB DVD burner.

If interference from the +5VDC power conductors into the data conductors was an issue, USB wouldn't work - at all.
If you/a manufacturer is at all concerned about the quality of the power being supplied from a USB port, the much, much simpler and reasonable solution is to just use an external power supply. -------------------- "Not sure what the question is, but the answer is probably no."
