Hi,
what do you think is the quality of 3GPP's HE-AAC +SBR/PS reference implementation? As it is completely available in source code, I consider there could be heavy restrictions considering quality of SBR and PS implementation. Regards, GW |

At least the SBR/PS part is crippled. I didn't look at the pure AAC part enough to tell.
The crippiling isn't actually so bad, though... |

Regards, GW Willie, As I was told by the people from Coding Technologies, 3GPP HE+PS AAC encoder (they wrote) is "optimized for quality" since it is the 3G's NORMATIVE implementation. It is very well maintained and should be bug-free (contrary to ISO code). However, it is "NOT usable for anything but 3G compliant products", so you will have to honor their rights... Daniel |
