I`m not good in english so i wrote short: Artist: Sting Album: The Soul Cages Track: 01. Island Of Souls You can hear it in first seconds of the song, exactly at 00:03 mp3 with 128 has no problems. P.S. I can`t provide a clip |

Just wondering, are you using -b 128 or -q 4?

i have encoded it with EAC with option 128

Try ripping to wav and encoding using oggenc or oggdrop at -q 4

Encoded without any swith - no problem Encoded with -b128 - artifact |

It's known that -q provides better quality than -b, so I recommend sticking with that.

The quality settings are true VBR so much more likely to deal with the odd tough segment in the best way, ie. fewer artefacts.
