Hi,
I have few doubts about Ogg. 1. Is there any encoder available for Vorbis to encode with 500+ kbps? The link below shows that q 10 is recommended for 500-1000 but libvorbis codec (Oggxpd) has a maximum bitrate of 500kbps. CODE http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Recommended_Ogg_Vorbis 2. Is Oga is same as Ogg with only audio but with a mere change in extension ? Is there any encoder that encodes FLAC or any other audio into Oga container? 3. Is there any encoder available for Ogx ? Where can I get specimen files for oga and ogx? - Thank you, VT |

The FLAC Frontend coming with official Flac distribution can store flac content in ogg container (with default extension oga), but you are right, oga=ogg. If you want 500+ kbps bitrate, LossyFLAC/Wavpack lossy is a more reasonable choice IMO.

500+ kbps sounds like the OP should go for lossless compression directly. (talking about stereo files, right?)
