Play with Foobar doesn't work

When Foobar is not started yet and I double-click on a playlist file Foobar doesn't play automatically. I used the installer, so it should work alright...

under Core is "Start playing on startup" checked?

That's not what I meant. This way starting Foobar will start playing immediately. I only want Foobar to start playing immediately when I open an audio file/playlist...

Do you mean that foobar doesn't launch at all or that you need to press 'play' to hear something?

     Also occurs when opening mp3 files when Foobar's not started yet!! How come?

I have no idea what could cause this. Try deleting configuration file (foobar2000.cfg) and see if that helps.
