Ripping with track marks but no gaps? Options

Hi there,

Newbie on this forum and not massively techie. I have a question that's been bugging me for some time. Hope you can help...

I have a lot of DJ mix CDs. If I rip them as they are and put them on my MP3 player, it annoyingly inserts a gap between every track, right in the middle of the mix. It's completely maddening.

The workaround I use is to rip the mix as one single WAV track using EAC, and then use another programme to convert from WAV to MP3. This works fine, except of course that the mix is now one 70-minute track, so you can't skip a tune you don't like or locate a particular tune you want to listen to without listening to the whole mix.

So does anyone know a workaround that places track marks in the right places without putting gaps in?

Hello Tomska,
you are searching for gapless playback. You will need an encoder which writes correct metadata and a decoder/player which uses this data to play gapless.
