Proposal: foo_browser => foo_multitag

I have a proposal for a panel to make tagging on multivalue fields easier. Everyone familar with the foo_browser component knows the principle.

Here's a modified image of how it would look in action:



Each panel should be configured to host a multivalue field (and have the usual panel options, border, colors etc.). Then every panel should list all the values from the library.

The entrys selected in the playlist should make each panel show the associated values from the field. The grey selection should occour when a value are not set on all the selected entrys. Selecting values in the panel should tag the entrys (but of course keep all greyed fields untrouched).

I like this idea too. I've been wanting to do this with trackinfo_mod but unfortunately buttons have to be absolutely aligned at the moment which is a bit of a hassle for the number of entries I'd like to have. It would also be nice if you could just update a text file with new selections.

do u know any code which can actually set a tag eg %genre% in trackinfo_mod

eg on clicking a button u change the %genre% to rock

Anyone out there? I'd still appreciate this very much. How long would it take to develop this little thingy? It really would ease my tagging workflow.

I don't see the use in this. Just use a quicksearch and then masstagger script.

Masstagger is useful when you want to apply a single value to multiple files, but you are unable to add a tag to a multivalue field across files, leaving the existing values intact. Also this process is trivial and unclear. I want to have an easy and graphical way of adjusting the values with my files. Using quicksearch and masstagger will not solve this.

Sure this does *add* values, but it's not very comfortable. To perform this action with the masstagger you need to click approx. 10 places and type the value manually.

My request suggests that you don't need to type anything that has already been typed once, and you are able to both add AND remove any value from a multivalue field.

You need to look at masstagger more closely.

You only need to create a masstagger script once. You can save it and then link it to a button or keyboard shortcut. Depending on how you script it, you should also be able to add and remove values too.

Oh yes, filling up a userinterface with 50 buttons/context menus/etc... That's convenient
