Okay, so I have a bunch of MP3 files, and would like to know what they were encoded by. I noticed that foobar2000 displays such info, but only for some of the tracks, while I'd like to have it for all of them.

If there is a way, then please share it with me.

Thanks in advance.

Why not ask whoever encoded them what they used?

They're a bit old, so I doubt anyone would remember.

I think foobar checks to see if the encoder info was stored in the header. If its not there, it doesn't show you anything. THeres software that can try and guess based on the bitstream layout, but its not 100% accurate. Check out mrquestionman if you're interested.

EncSpot Pro was a program created for such tasks. It used to be shareware, but the author abandoned it and gave it away as freeware.
You can download it here...

There is also Mr QuestionMan, although it doesn't display as broad a spectrum of information as EncSpot Pro.
