I would like to convert a few wma files to mp3 and cannot locate the foo_wma.dll.
I don't see it at http://www.saunalahti.fi/cse/foobar2000.php I'm using xp sp2 with necessary codecs installed to allow dbpoweramp to convert wma files. I can convert them with dbpoweramp, but don't like the way dbpoweramp takes over the computer while it encodes and doesn't operate in the background (at least I haven't found a configuration setting to make it do so). |

QUOTE (Mr_Rabid_Teddybear @ Feb 11 2005, 04:45 PM) sorry for the stupid question. I did a search but it just led me to a thread about the foo_wma.dll which is apparently not used anymore. I tried installing the foo_wma, but didn't really see a way to install it - just a bunch of files in a zip folder. d/loaded quintessential player, installed plugins and no problem. I like foobar and I think it would get a LOT more use if there were some sort of help or guide, rather than spending hours trying to find out about it through posts here that can become obsolete. Guess the argument against that it is SO user customizable that no basic tutorial is possible. |

The foo_wma component are still present in Case's special installer.... -------------------- "ONLY THOSE WHO ATTEMPT THE IMPOSSIBLE WILL ACHIEVE THE ABSURD"

gergev you must have gotten foo_wma_src.zip from Case's site, ie the component's source code. You must get the component itself instead, foo_wma.dll, which is included in Case's special installer: Download link is at the end of this page.

I already installed the special installer and it wasn't there. I'll try it again though. I gotta say though quintessential rocks. I think it is faster at encoding too. Doesn't do shn however |

It's in there but won't be installed by default, you've got to check "Optional component > Input > WMA" during install

Here, hopefully this will save people the trouble of going through the special install just to get foo_wma.dll:
download foo_wma.dll |
