Foobar [Nowplaying List]...a workaround, I'll show you how to build a Nowplaying list with EsPlaylist compo Options

There is no Nowplaying List feature in foobar, that's exactly what they wanted it to be, a playlists player, with a queue function just for play songs on-the-fly.

I'm looking for a solution, probably I've found a one, but it doesn't work for me since I use lists as a media library and it supports only library browsing mode.

You have to install EsPlaylist component, create two panels of it, side by side, set the list preferences for one of them [likely you'll choose the right] to stay on the playing list by going to [context menu>Playlists>Follow Nowplaying List], and the other for browsing library [the same way>Browse Libary], go to preferences>EsPlaylist> behavior>Browsing Library and change the double click behavior to "send to a specified playlist&play"and the middle mouse button to "add to a specified playlist" - the add option WITHOUT [&play]-, set "Nowplaying" as a name for the specified playlist in the down box.

Go and play a song from your local library, it should now send it to a new playlist called "Nowplaying" as we set before and play it, the browsing EsPlaylist that we're using to browse the library should stay focused on the library and the other one [on the right side] should show you the playing track, now if you click on another item it should replace the contents and play the song in the same playlist.

To add items to the playlist use the middle mouse button, and now you have a Nowplaying list which is probably the [FB2K Most Wanted].

There are four disadvantages for this workaround, and let me start with mine:

IT DOESN'T WORK WITH PLAYLISTS.

Second: you can't change the song from the "right" Nowplaying list by double-clicking, why? because buttons behavior is a general setting, and it will clear the list content and replace it with the track you clicked. but you can do this by clickin "Play" from the context menu, I don't think you'll get tired from it because you'll only do this once in a while.

Third: ESplaylist can only browse the whole library without categorizing, but there is another work around for this one, try to add the search bar from [context menu>Options>Appearance>Show search bar], obviously for the library browsing panel, now you can filter your songs easily within the same panel.

The Last One: it works only with EsPlaylist panel.


Sadly...I can't use it , and I wish EsPlaylist developers to add an options for browsing playlists as a tree so I can do this with my F2K.
