Problematic sample for Nero6 AAC

These are the first 15 seconds of "In your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel

I was trying the aac encoder in nero 6.0.0.11 at normal - high quality, encoder quality high, lc profile.

The bitrate of the mp4 is about 125 kbps.

At the second 2 there are many easily discernible artifacts in the cymbals (sound is watery).

I did a fast abx, here are the results:

I've tried, as a quick (and thus not 100% accurate) comparison, also qt6 at 128 cbr (not abxed yet), but doesn't have this problem.

Can someone confirm?

Thanks & bye

Thanks

Yeah, bit rate is unusually low (121 kbps here) for the clip - I will investigate this sample.

I did some further testing.
At "extreme" preset problem seems to be gone, i can't abx.

Tried also aacenc 2.15 (i'm curious ): at -normal preset there are the same artifacts, stronger.

Hope it helps
