I posted this in a different thread but it was an old thread and I'm not getting any responses. Can someone check my understanding and point out anything I missed?
Lit's CD "A Place In The Sun" has a 1:50 hidden track. It's not a full song more like an intro to the album (no words just guitar and drums.) I extract into individual files. So the only way for me to get this track is to extract this album using "Append Gaps To Next Track" correct? Let's say I use this (and the appropriate CUE sheet) in the future to burn a copy of the CD. The copy will be slightly different than the original in that the track times will not be exact, right? Are there any other issues I need to watch out for? |

The "hidden track" is very probably the gap preceeding track 1 (you can easily verify this by detecting gaps and looking how long it is).
If so there are several ways to make a perfect CD copy (e.g. creating an image, or appending gaps to next track like you said). Note aside: There is also an interesting option to 'extract tracks index-based' (which extracts tracks and gaps as separate files), its disadvantage is that there is no appropriate cue sheet for it (in fact there *is* one, but AFAIK you can't make it directly: the only way to create it is splitting a previously created image with EAC into the preferred index-based files, and then EAC will automatically create an appropriate cue sheet as well, iirc) QUOTE (dewey1973) I extract into individual files. No, if you use the right cue sheet (the one meant for the gap handling method you chose, for example 'wavs with corrected gaps' if you have chosen 'add gaps to next track', then there is nothing to worry about. The only risky thing about cue sheets is that each gap handling method requires its own cue sheet. If you want to make sure nothing goes wrong, I'd say: create an image. Thank you for your help.

So if I use "Action - Create CUE Sheet - Current Gap Settings..." I'm sure to get the right CUE sheet, correct? |
