Hi,
I would like to know the maximum bit rate allowed in WMA. I remembered somebody said it is 160kbps because "Microsoft claimed that WMA has the same quality as MP3 at half of its bit rate". However, my friend created some WMA files at 192kbps. So what is the maximum bit rate allowed in WMA? Regards, William |

The max bitrate using the command line program (wm8eutil.exe) is 192 kbit/s. Both 44.1 and 48 kHz sampling is supported.

QUOTE The max bitrate using the command line program (wm8eutil.exe) is 192 kbit/s. I've heard that you can play 192kbps WMA ONLY at the computer which was used for encoding. Is it wrong ? Or is it true only for some versions of WMA encoder ? |
