Evidence that LAME is the best mp3 encoder

I know LAME is the best, but I'm after some evidence (listening tests/results etc) that I can reference for some work I'm doing.

I know about Roberto's MP3 at 128kbps public listening test and 64kbps public listening test of course.  But I can't seem to find any others that compares LAME with Blade, FhG etc.  I know the aforementioned two tests are evidence enough, but I just wondered if there was anymore? I expect these tests to have taken place quite a while ago, so maybe that's why it's harder to locate them?

This evidence is simply gonna be used to explain why LAME is the best.

Thanks

Unfortunately, I can't access rarewares from my work PC  . Gets blocked cos the blocking software thinks it's a Music download site!!

Anyway, the second ref refers to the [a href="http://www.rjamorim.com/test/mp3-128/results.html]results[/url] section that I posted above.

Thanks for the other two.

That'll do.
