I just wanted to know if there were any programs for splitting an ape image file into individual files using the cuesheet, for Mac OS X? Thank you.

xACT or shntool will do it but you need to remove all lines before the one beginning FILE etc. and the split files will need to be renamed manually. If there is a pre-gap it will be split as a tiny separate track.

When you say remove all lines before the one beginning FILE etc., what exactly does that mean?

I found cue splitter program for OSX.
It seems to support FLAC, APE, ALAC, WavPack, TTA, etc.

XLD quit as soon as I tried to open an APE or CUE file on my system (10.3.9). I haven't had time to try it on a Tiger box so if you still need to know what I meant, it was to edit the cue from:
CODE
PERFORMER "THe Marshall Tucker Band"
TITLE "The Marshall Tucker Band"
FILE "MTB.wav" WAVE

to:
CODE
FILE "MTB.wav" WAVE

Remove any and all lines before "FILE...." and save the changes before using xACT/shnsplit

Probably you will need to disable 'XLDAlacDecoder.bundle' and 'XLDAacOutput.bundle' plugins in the file info window of Finder if you use XLD on 10.3 and before.

Thanks a lot nao, that did the trick. I wish there were options as to what info from the CUE to include in the filename but it's a nice little bit of kit. Cheers.

Thanks for the info.

Also, much appreciation to nao for the heads up on the program.

Great piece of software. Right now is the only program that does cues really usable in mac. Do you know any way of using custom options with mp3 encoding (like presets etc)?
